I conjunction with the auther U K Epoxy Resins is now giving this full version of this software for free You can now output to 2D cad and design hulls with up to five planks per side with automatically calculated additional plank width for lapstrake construction Using the new autoplank option you can create rounded hulls with up to 20 planks per side for strip plank construction or add overlaps for round bilge lapstrake or clinker type hulls !!!
With the new Carene 2008 it is easy to design a hull and do the basic mass budgeting and hydrostatic equilibrium calculation. It is tailored to design hard chine boats with either a pram bow or a pointed stem with up to Five planks per side. Or using the multi plank option up to 20 planks per side Carene 2008 develops the splined curves in to flat panels which can be printed, output to DXF files for re-use with any CAD software or output to ASCII files for use with a spreadsheet. Carene 2008 supports 3D Virtual Reality output compliant with VRML 2.0 standard to visualise your boat with a web browser. Carene software was developed by Robert Laine. The 2008 version is the latest development of Carene 50 and has been in service for years in both the professional and amateur boating community and is also suitable to design model boats this software is no longer supported by Robert Laine or U K Epoxy Resins but a user manual is provided in the zip file.
